Celebrating Heljä Liukko-Sundström's 50-year artistic career, Arabia's Art Department created a commemorative series of decorative plates illustrated by the artist. Depicting the beauty and richness of the four seasons, each plate is a unique, handcrafted work of art. Heljä created the original one-of-a-kind prototypes, using the four seasons as her inspiration.
These prototypes were then meticulously recreated by Min-Kyung Jeong, an experienced ceramic artist from Arabia's Pro Arte Department who had collaborated with the artists of Arabia's Art Department for many years. Every piece was individually approved by Heljä herself. She wanted the plates in this unique series to convey a genuine sense of individuality and craftsmanship. Like many of her other unique ceramic works, the Four Seasons plates are left unglazed.
The plates are made using an engraving technique that gives the surface a vibrant, richly textured appearance. The commemorative edition consists of 200 individually numbered plates. Each plate is a valuable collector's item for admirers of Heljä's art and a truly special, personal gift for anyone who appreciates ceramic art.
